About Z. King-Custom Woodworking 

Z. King Custom Woodworking is located in Amherstview Ontario. We make a variety of fine wood products as well as bringing custom wood projects into fruition! We strive to make products that not only are of quality and function, but bring joy to our customers!

 

Z. King Custom Woodworking was founded in 2022 by owner and maker Zach after health issues forced him to leave conventional employment and “carve” his own path forward, with the help of his loving girlfriend, aunt and a few close friends!

 

More About the Craftsman….

Zach has an extensive background working with wood that started in early childhood, learning alongside his grandfather Peter. Peter was a second generation woodworker that was eager to pass his knowledge on, and Zach was eager to learn!

 

In his younger teens he was afforded to opportunity to continue developing his skills along side his father.

In his late teens Zach took his first step into self employment in the construction sector where he continued to refine his skills and learn more along side many other talented tradesman. Zach competed projects of a wide variety from small residential repairs to large scale commercial renovations. One of Zach’s most notable projects was an opportunity to work at Fort Henry, a world heritage site completing repair work and building displays for events.

In his early twenties Zach longed for some adventure and travelled off the beaten path in search of the roots of the woodworking industry. He found this travelling Canada wide working in the forestry sector working on projects from planting trees, silviculture work and harvesting/ processing wood products. Through this time Zach continued to building finished wood products when the time allowed to keep previously learned skills fresh and the passion for creating alive.

Zach has dedicated his life to learning woodworking from the ground up and continues develop his skills and knowledge daily to ensure the finest of products for his customers and to be able share his passion with others!
